Last Thursday evening I gave a talk to a group of young adults on the topic of the Theology of the Body (actually it was an article from West’s website titled: Why Sex Sells). Now as you can imagine this formidable task can’t be undertaken without God’s grace and wisdom: grace to seek the wisdom that comes from God to guide me; and the understanding to apply his wisdom in a way that is expressed through love.

The humbling event occurred when the group commented on how they look forward to the times when I give the homily at mass. To hear the affirmation from a group of young folks was deeply humbling especially in light of the fact that I sometimes wonder of my message (PG-14) is really relative to their life: apparently it is praise God!

All glory and praise goes to God the Father who somehow uses me as his instrument. It’s always humbling to know that God will use each oneof us if we would only give him permission to do so….
